Crazy hail and heat lightning storm in Chicago Thursday night. It was beautiful and terrifying. Here’s a peek at what went on for about an hour:
Summer in Chicago has been pretty fickle: 90 degrees and oppressively humid one day, beautiful 75 degrees and lake breeze the next, rain for four days, hail and lightning overnight, beautiful in the morning… you get the idea.
The point is, I don’t know how to dress myself and I’ve lost four umbrellas because I have to carry one with me, just in case, constantly and they end up finding a new home under a seat on the 136 express, red line Sheridan platform or in the WBEZ newsroom.
